We're now two or so months out from the DFRAG Invitational, but before then, we've got team slots to fill! Registration for the DFRAG Invitational 2026 Open Qualifier is now open to all teams in Asia as of August 7.

After last year's hugely successful DFRAG Invitational, the event is back with an expanded format and entry pool. Teams from across Asia are invited to qualify for the October 26 LAN, to be held at the DFRAG Studio in Brisbane, Australia.

Each registered team will play out an online single-elimination bracket to determine who proceeds forward in the competition. The top eight squads from the Open Qualifier will proceed to the Closed Qualifier; there, they'll play a double-elimination bracket until we have our final two qualifiers for LAN.

The two qualifiers will join our six invites (four from the OCE VRS ladder, two from Asia VRS) in Brisbane to play for the lion's share of the $40,000 AUD prize pool, plus vital VRS points ahead of qualification for the PGL Singapore Major in November!

IMPORTANT DATES

  • August 7: Open Qualifier registration opens
  • August 21: VRS invites issued (using August 2026 VRS publication date)
  • August 30: Open Qualifier registration closes
  • August 31: Open Qualifier begins
  • September 7-8: Closed Qualifier begins
  • October 26-November 1: DFRAG Invitational 2026 LAN

The DFRAG Invitational will close out an action-packed October following Season 2's Wildcard LAN, which will also feature VRS invitations to Asian squads.

The tournaments follow July's HyperX Intel Nationals, with winners FlyQuest joining Open Series qualifiers Abyssal, Rooster, and Ground Zero at Wildcard LAN Season 2 via direct invite. Two more spots are up for grabs for the top two at Open Series 6, which concludes August 13.
