FlyQuest to rep OCE at eXTREMESLAND 2026 with qualifier win

FlyQuest keep up their dominance at home this season with a win over Ground Zero qualifying them for eXTREMESLAND Asia Open 2026 in Shanghai, China in December.

It was (almost) by the book for FQ who swept their way through the qualifier with ease against a mix of established teams, new-look rosters, and amateur open qualifiers in the group stage.

One record would fall, however; FQ's incredible two-year map win streak over OCE opponents is no more, with a new-look Rooster shocking the DFRAG LAN champions in the playoffs opener.

FlyQuest took Inferno with relative ease 13-8 after a 10-round T-side, before Rooster capitalised on their 8-4 Anubis lead. While FQ grinded back on the T-side, several mistakes late in the map gifted the Chooks the map win and forced Dust 2.

And for a moment, Rooster threatened a boilover in the upper-bracket. The Chooks sprinted to a 6-0 CT-side lead, jumping on a lethargic and wounded FQ. However, the gravity of the series was not lost on FlyQuest, who responded in kind, winning 12 of the next 18 rounds, eventually putting Rooster away 13-9.

Rooster's luck had run out, and with BRACE standing in for Skullhunter in the lower-bracket final against Ground Zero, the Chooks were on the back foot from the outset. GZ took Anubis 13-8 before decimating Rooster 13-1 on Inferno.

But after the near-defeat to Rooster, FQ didn't look back, defeating GZ twice 2-0 (13-9, 13-9), 2-0 (13-1, 13-7) to book a ticket to Shanghai for eXTREMESLAND's main event.

An eXTREMESLAND trophy has evaded Oceania; despite several editions and attempts made by OCE squads, none have come away from the LAN with the victory. FlyQuest will arguably be OCE's best chance yet.

Subregional qualifiers for eXTREMESLAND 2026 continue through October before the 12 attendees converge in Shanghai to play for the lion's share of $150,000 USD.
