Hi all! Welcome to the second season of Dfrag Amateur League. Season 1 went well, but I never could have expected the overwhelming response from teams for this next season. We achieved 16 full teams very quickly, and unfortunately have had to turn back some eligible teams who have missed out.
Now, to the rules. The full document can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NTISOdmzTz8CjN4ucFPuu13I_F1Rhs45mt1gjlWjR_c/I would like to remind everyone that while the rules are in place and we intend to follow them closely, the entire premise of the DAL is to create a supportive environment for players to develop their abilities. We may decide to tweak things a little bit depending on the situation.
Game Scheduling:
The default time for games is Tuesday and Thursday 8:00pm AEST. Friendly reminder that AEST is the current time in QLD. NSW/VIC/ACT are currently in AEDT. This means that for those of you in these states, the time of matches will be 9:00pm default. We will be starting matches next week! Exciting :)
The league is designed to allow you to reschedule to different dates. With a 5 week group stage and 7 allocated bo1s, you should have enough flexibility to shuffle matches around.
We strongly recommend trying to work with the other team to find match times which suit both of you. We may force an emergency sub if we have to step in to organise a reschedule and discover that a team isn't playing ball.
ELO and Eligibility:
Overall, most teams applied with squads that followed the rules. The average elo of all teams ranges from 961 through to 1909. We have split you into groups that are approximately elo and team balanced.
We will be checking all matches to ensure that elo rules are being followed. We do have 4 notable exceptions to the rule however, which will be announced here:
Kiss Tony has been allowed to field "mitzymijo" - a 2800 elo strong rifler. Please do not be scared about this as they are a content team and the average elo on this squad is still the 2nd lowest overall. Mitzy will also not be disrespectfully hard-carrying matches.
Backpacks R US has been allowed to field "Spotto" - a 2400 elo IGL who is an experienced player. They have been allowed this discretion per the “We Want 16 Teams” Rule in our rulebook.
Scream for Mongolia has been allowed to field "illu888" - a 2500 elo rifler. They have been allowed this discretion per the “We Want 16 Teams” Rule in our rulebook in addition to performance history in season 1.
Saving OCE has been allowed to field a roster of players with low hours and Faceit matches. Each player registered is not a smurf, but rather players with relevant experience in other FPS titles.
All other teams and players follow the eligibility criteria. Certain teams with average elo closer to 2000 may need to consult this ELO sheet for reference when subbing in players:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_JVolyAnYj6sBK85K7YHM9fmDvKshbl2Qn_reRzTjCYRemember, registered subs and players will use the elo recorded on file. Emergency subs will have their values calculated dynamically.
We are in the process of creating the Faceit Hub tonight. All teams are added and we will push matches tonight.

Rescheduling:
The Faceit page will allow you to reschedule +- 3 days. Please contact admins via the match page to push games back to agreed times further than this threshold. We encourage flexibility, but don't want to punish teams who have committed to a rescheduled time. Some of the strong feedback we received in season 1 was that extremely last minute reschedules (especially after matches were already pushed back!) was a little unfair to teams who scheduled their life around match changes. To that end, we will use the LFT pool as emergency subs in applicable extreme situations to ensure matches can occur.
