What is tilting?

Tilting is when a player becomes inwardly frustrated or angry, most often about their own mistakes during play, and sometimes because of the play of team mates (or opposition).

When a player starts to tilt, they play worse because they are distrated by negative thoughts running through their head. They might play more or less aggresively than usual. And usually they comm less.

But worse, they might outwardly express their frustration by making noise (a grunt, a sigh, or slamming the desk). This causes their team mates to notice the frustration, and now they are worried that this player’s performance will decrease, and those distracting thoughts make them play worse…and then you’ve got a negative cycle!
