Welcome to a revamped DFRAG Recap, the series where we take a look at the biggest stories in Oceania Counter-Strike; everything from our amateur leagues and ECL to around the grounds at home and abroad!
Without further ado, let's break into the big stories this past month!

SemperFi has been crowned champions of CCT Season 3 OCE with keen’s men dominating Rooster 3-0 (13-3, 13-9, 13-11) in the grand final.
In a dominant display, aliStair led the server with a 1.51 rating alongside shadiy (1.32 rating, +15 K/Diff) over the three maps. SemperFi claimed their place as the number two team in the scene and will look to maintain their foothold as the season continues.
It was a lower bracket run from SemperFi after they had to forfeit a match to play ESL Pro League closed qualifiers, with the squad then toppling KZG, Ground Zero (more on them later!), and ex-TALON.
SemperFi's run was almost perfect apart from a 13-2 loss to Housebets on Nuke. Overall, an amazing streak from SemperFi where they dominated almost every category stats-wise.

Rooster showed some brilliance in the grand final; this amazing shot from sliimey lit the world on fire, catching the eyes of many CS fans overseas!
jks stars as FlyQuest secure BLAST London appearance
FlyQuest has its first trophy with jks following the team's win at BLAST Asia Risings last week.
The victory over The Huns in the grand final means we'll be seeing more FlyQuest on the international stage, with the Aussie-Kiwi-Romanian mix squad locked in for BLAST Open Fall in London later this month.

It was a proud moment for OCE with three teams attending Asia Risings in Ulaanbaatar, and while SemperFi and Ground Zero were unable to crack the opening round, both gain valuable LAN experience for the season ahead.
Ground Zero makes welcome return to CS via ex-Housebets
It might have been one of the worst kept secrets in OCE CS this year, but nevertheless, Ground Zero is back in the esport after picking up the ex-Housebets core in late July.
The team, consisting of damyo, apocdud, pz, Drox, and vision, pulled on the green-and-black in time for BLAST Asia Risings—their first LAN outing under the org's banner.
We wanted to go sneaky-beaky like... but someone had other plans🤥

Ground Zero is one of Australia's most storied esports organisations, with the WA-based outfit a staple in CS:GO in the region through the late 2010s. We last saw GZ in CS back in 2021.
They're back in action later this week for the ESL Challenger League Cup #1 alongside SemperFi, Rooster, and Mindfreak.
eXTREMESLAND Asia 2025 announced; OCE qualifiers kick off Aug. 22
The best in Asia CS2 will go head-to-head as ZOWIE eXTREMESLAND is back for 2025!

With Shanghai, China, announced as the hosts for this year's edition, teams from all over the region will compete for a share of the $150,000 USD prize pool and vital VRS points as the Road to the Budapest Major heats up.
DFRAG MEDIA GROUP has partnered up as tournament organiser and broadcast partner for eXTREMESLAND and will host the online open qualifier on Aug. 23. Registration for the qualifier is now open!
Those who survive the open qualifier will head to WY Gaming City in Sydney for the offline qualifier stage, from which the winner will book their tickets to China for the Asia Open LAN final.

Tommy returns to Counter-Strike
Longtime OCE sweetheart Tom "Tommy" Malone has made a return to Counter-Strike after “retiring” earlier this year.

RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH https://t.co/gf2MocueUH
Tommy has been a quiet superstar in OCE, and in his return he joins Lite ESC who have had an interesting past few months. Roster moves and player poaching have seen this team gutted, rebuilt and gutted again.
However, with Tommy joining, there is yet again hope for a playoff run in ESEA Open. The roster for Lite ESC is still looking for one player; coach Kristian “pain” Isaac is filling in for the time being.
We asked Tommy for his thoughts on joining up with Lite ESC.
"[I'm] super happy to have joined, getting to play with a lot of the people I looked up to when I was getting rolled in LPL, it’s a great opportunity with a super good group of lads so far who wanna bring up the talent in the scene.”
DFRAG Amateur League update: KissTony hits the deck
It's all over for KissTony in the DFRAG Amateur League. Going into the final week of groups, and with Scream4Mongolia and CE Silver already qualified, it left five teams with a chance to fill out the rest of the top four.
thank you for a wonderful season of @dfragtv amateur league. we might be in last place, our player morale in the bin, we might not even exist tomorrow... but it's been a blast (for me, khalid the social media manager)

Early July saw fan favourites KissTony knocked out of the playoff race. Team figurehead Anthony “TwoTapTony” McMullen kept his chin up following the squad's elimination, vowing to return rejuvenated for next season.
“When you have that target on your back, you're all the competition's focus,” TwoTapTony said. “Best of luck to the teams in the playoffs, but we just made ourselves the biggest target in the league.”
Arcana, CE Silver, Scream4Mongolia, and Road to Gold battle it out for the title of DFRAG Amateur League champions later this August!
More VRS events on the way for OCE?

We won't say a whole lot more just yet, but keep your eyes peeled for our official proper announcement on Aug. 11!
That's it for now! Enjoy the day and make sure to check out DFRAG.GG for more OCE updates!
