SemperFi's revival from the depths is now underway, with the organisation announcing Yoller as the team's major partner today before revealing the new squad player-by-player, day-by-day this week.
An Oct. 5 press release confirmed Yoller, a crypto iGaming platform and online casino entertainment hub, would be the new partner for SemperFi. The pair would collaborate on content, jersey design, and other cross-promotional material as Yoller expands into esports.
"This partnership with Yoller will help us invest in the organisation and create more opportunities for our players to connect with fans through streams and content," SemperFi owner Ben Savage said.
"We've put a lot into building SemperFi, and having partners who support our ambitions makes a real difference."
Coupled with the partnership announcement is a plan to reveal the new SemperFi lineup this week. SemperFi will unveil the team player-by-player over the coming days.
SemperFi, led by father-son duo Ben and James "SaVage" Savage, formed in 2024 with Latvian duo Kristers "keen" Dārznieks and Martins "shadiy" Gūtmanis. They set themselves the goal of reaching a CS2 Major in 2025 and got to business competing in OCE.
But despite acquiring the remnants of the TALON project in September and a dominant domestic season to close the year, the team fell short of qualifying for any of 2025's CS2 majors.
Into 2026, SemperFi took a risk and traveled to Europe in an effort to better their game, and while the experience was vital for the growth of the team, their back-to-back losses to THUNDER dOWNUNDER in March forced them to commit to attending several Asian LANs.
Losses at Gangkui Cup and ACL 2026 — plus several overseas controversies out of the team's hands — saw their dreams of making the IEM Cologne Major shattered.
SemperFi ultimately broke apart in June, with keen returning to Europe, shadiy off to Alter Ego, HaZR to Ground Zero, and ADDICT into a competitive break.
Now, SemperFi gears up for another crack. While they've missed the cutoff for the PGL Singapore Major this year, the team will begin attending events and building up VRS points with eyes on making it to Buenos Aires or Shanghai for the big show in 2027.
SemperFi's first player announcement will come tomorrow evening, Oct. 6 AEDT. It's not clear when we'll see SemperFi in action, but official comments given to DFRAG said they'll be on the server "as soon as possible."
