Rooster has taken up the mantle of challenger to SemperFi, downing the favourites 2-0 (13-11, 13-7) to claim the title of eXTREMESLAND OCE champions and thus securing a spot at the Asia Final in China this December.

The Chooks were made to work for their grand final slot, first dispatching of LE-LUX 2-0 (13-0, 13-3) before bouncing back against Ground Zero behind Tyson "asap" Paterson (37-24, 1.46).

Ground Zero originally drew first blood over the Chooks with a surprising 2-0 (16-13, 13-7) win, but couldn't bring down the event favourites in SemperFi in the upper bracket final, with the squad falling short in the Rooster rematch.

Rooster held on to take the grand final opener 13-11 with all five heavily contributing to winning the team's map pick. SemperFi looked to rebound on their pick of Inferno but the Chooks turned up the heat in a big way. sprinting to an 8-0 lead on their way to a monster 9-3 T half.

Try as they could, SemperFi had no answer to Michael "chelleos" Hawkins (18-10, 1.44) and his AWP, with the squads trading rounds through to the finish with no room left for SemperFi to recover.

It's a much needed win and morale boost for Rooster who were gunned down on Friday night in the CCT Season 2 final, where SemperFi reverse-swept the Chooks in stunning fashion.

The eXTREMESLAND win—this time on LAN, and with their own new gun in the form of Lam-Fung "Terryyy" Lee—means it's still mighty close at the top of domestic OCE CS.

ZOWIE marketing & communications assistant and organiser of the OCE qualifier for eXTREMESLAND, Kevin "KaRath" Zhu was ecstatic with the event and its turnout, with dozens of fans attending the WY Gaming Club to catch the action in person.

"Congratulations to Rooster on their victory and being the representative of Oceania for the Asia Finals in Shanghai this December," KaRath said.

"Without the commitment from our key partners, players, and supporters, none of this would be possible. ZOWIE has been committed to supporting ANZ FPS Esports for a long time now, and will continue to do so into the future.

It's a vital win in Sydney for Rooster who now book their tickets to China later this year for eXTREMESLAND, where they'll take on the best in Asia for vital VRS points and a share of the $150,000 USD prize pool.
