An ex-coach, a star player with a broken hand, and against insurmountable odds taking on the subregion's best on their home soil. It was a grand final that wasn't meant to be, but NEXVOID found a way, stunning FlyQuest 2-1 (13-7, 6-13, 13-11) to win the Logitech G Pro Series 2026.

Former FlyQuest coach Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga (1.52, 52-35) put in a captain's knock and led from the front, handing his old team their first LAN loss since the IEM Cologne Major — and in the process, shattering FQ's hopes of topping the Asia VRS and nabbing a Stage 2 slot at the PGL Singapore Major.

NEXVOID was made to do it the long way, dropping into the lower bracket of the playoffs in their first outing against FlyQuest. In that series, the OCE squad dropped opener Ancient in overtime before blitzing NEXVOID on Dust 2 13-2 and edging out Inferno 13-11.

The Mongolian team wasn't going to let Ancient slip in the grand final, however, building a rock-solid CT-side to end affairs 13-7. FQ fought back and, in similar fashion, claimed a big win on Dust 2 to force a third map.

Once again, all 24 rounds of regulation were needed for decider Inferno — but that's where the differences between the deciders ended. Alistair "aliStair" Johnston (1.52, 22-10) dominated NEXVOID's CT hold, posting 17 kills in a 9-3 half and giving the OCE team a chance to end affairs with a whimper.

But seven-straight from NEXVOID, led chiefly by erkaSt, saw FlyQuest's winning opportunity slip through their fingers. NEXVOID broke a two-round streak at 11-10 to ruin what was left of FQ's economy before barreling over them on the B site to wrap up the win.

NEXVOID still has a razor-thin chance of qualifying for Singapore. It's largely out of their hands, however, with current frontrunners TYLOO, The MongolZ, and Lynn Vision at events up until the Nov. 1 cutoff.

What is in their hands, however, is their performance at next week's DFRAG Invitational, which will feature a FlyQuest eager for revenge, international squad Alter Ego, and an Off Chops licking their wounds from a lost consolidation final.

DFRAG Invitational 2026 begins Oct. 26. Stay tuned to DFRAG.gg for more!
