While it's important the players get the best out of playing and competing at a DFRAG-run event, it's not the only experience getting a level up at DFRAG this year.
DFRAG has been working behind the scenes on building up everything around an event, from the devices used by the pros, to the tech behind the broadcast — and the addition of BenQ's SL04 digital signage has been of massive help to the team.
You'll have seen a few of the monitors behind the casters on camera, but several more are dotted around the studio and in production. Wherever they're needed, they've performed astoundingly.
It's this versatility that DFRAG main man Daniel "mavrick" Lang highlights. "We're not just at home, we're in a studio, we're in an office space — we need to make sure we can place the SL series on camera and not only have it look great, but also have no glare or reflections," he said.
DFRAG needed a platform that required the best in image quality and colour accuracy, whilst also remaining comfortable when scaled upward — all so DFRAG could remove the guessing work when it came to deliverables.
And while the BenQ SL series can be used as a standard TV, it's capable of so much more. Important info like match schedules, team lists, map vetoes, and other advertising was on full display and updated at a touch of a button.

From projecting a single image seamlessly across multiple screens, to its Pantone Validated colour performance for in-game and in-person footage, and manual adjustment of elements like bezel correction through BenQ's X-Sign software — itself a free addition with the SL series — DFRAG's in-house broadcast has never looked so polished.
"What we do is quite demanding, so having the chipset built into the display is one of the best features we've ever needed," mavrick said. "Having Android built directly into the screens and to be able to load up any application we want has been sensational. Everything we've given it, it's been able to handle it, no worries."
"We want to take the guesswork out of what we do. We want to have high confidence in that what we see is what we're delivering, with no compromise in quality. BenQ has been the solution."
