Dfrag Invitational 2025 will lead OCE CS2 into the 2025 season and comes complete with all the trimmings: a $20,000 AUD prize pool, a fully-fleshed open and closed qualifier, offline finals in Brisbane, and more.

Importantly, Dfrag Invitational 2025 is a Valve-approved event, meaning participants will earn vital VRS points for the season ahead, enabling qualification to future events in the region and abroad.

The $20,000 AUD Dfrag Invitational 2025 prize pool will be broken down as follows:

  • 1st place: $10,000
  • 2nd place: $5,000
  • 3rd place: $3,000
  • 4th place: $2,000

“An event like this is the combination of all the hard work the Oceanic esports community has been putting in over the years,” said Dfrag head Daniel “mavrick” Lang. “We hope to finally provide an option outside of the bigger organizers where we can give teams an avenue to help get them to overseas tournaments both within Asia and globally.”

The top four teams from Oceania, as per the VRS rankings, will receive a direct invitation to the main event. The next four will begin their Dfrag Invitational run in the closed qualifier alongside four teams that progress through the open qualifier, available to all on February 1 and 2.*

The top four open qualifiers head to the closed qualifier on February 15 and 16. From there, the final four will join our top invites at the new purpose-built Dfrag Studio on Brisbane’s northside for the offline finals in March.

Dfrag is in a great position to offer these kinds of opportunities now with our new purpose built esports production and LAN center here in Brisbane. We're taking this event by the reins and running with it.

VRS Invites will be officially issued a week prior to the Open Qualifiers. Further details about how to sign up for the open qualifier and more will follow—stay tuned to Dfrag via X/Twitter or the official website for more.

Please find a more detailed version with all dates and formats here as well as a link to the official rulebook for the tournament.

*we state 4 direct invites with 4 CQ invites based on current standings in the VRS as of publication and with the assumption 3 teams in the current VRS rankings no longer maintain a core3 roster. Should any of those teams announce a lineup prior to Open Qualifiers maintaining a core3 based on VRS they could qualify for an invite.
